SOLANIA

CAMPANIA, ITALY

One of the only certified VPN (Verace Pizza Napoletana) tinned tomatoes in the world.

The D.O.P. (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) San Marzano tomato was born in a well-defined territory in the Campania region of Italy that includes 41 municipalities: the most important areas are the Agro Sarnese-Nocerino, Acerrano-Nolano, Pompeiana-Stabiese and Montorese. Only in this specific land you find the best conditions for the cultivation of San Marzano seedlings.

Solania was founded with the sole intention of cultivating and producing a single variety of tomato, the San Marzano, since the he company is located right in the heart of the D.O.P. specifically the Sarnese-Nocerino. Everything at Solania is done by hand from the harvest to the processing and packaging.

In fact, the Mediterranean climate and the fertility of this land rich of Mount Vesuvias’ volcanic debris are the essential elements for the perfect maturation of the San Marzano and the unique intensity of its flavour. Once harvested, the tomatoes are selected, then seared and peeled; after this first step of transformation, they are selected once again. A “modus operandi” that allows Solania D.O.P. San Marzano tomatoes to maintain all its organoleptic characteristics, thanks to a genuine process of transformation which respects the natural delicacy of this product.
